The Haiku Habit

Writings on the wall
Foretold of death and despair
In a foreign tongue.

Writing on the Run

"None will be the wiser," said the gator to the clown.
"Just the tiniest dash of peppermint, and they'll never get us down."

"But that's cheaters," said the smiler,
and he called for what a strike.
The gator bit his head off,
and you know what that's like.

Ang buhay mo ay sasarap
Kung kakain ng alitaptap.
Peksman, promise, walang palya,
Ikay na'y parang bumbilya.

What's So Hot About Haikus?

'Neath the crimson veil

Where creatures of the night roam

A young boy grew up.

I'm A Slave to Technology...

I want this...

But if I get that, I might have to get this...

since my doesn't work with the MacBook.

Ramblings

The threat of typhoon Reming (AKA Durian) hanging over everyone was evident in the cold air that kept me from sweating during this morning's commute to work. I was suddenly reminded of how, during typhoon Milenyo, I walked along the side of SM fronting Park Square 1 (I was on my way to get a cab) with an umbrella in front of and not over me, with my body leaning forward at an almost 45-degree angle, just to keep myself from being bowled over backwards by the strong winds. I was terrified; I could hear people shouting and roofs threatening to come apart just meters away from where I was. Here's to hoping and praying I won't ever have to go through that again.

I'm gonna be a Fireside Chatter this Saturday at AJMA's (Ateneo Junior Marketing Association) 12th Ateneo Intercollegiate Marketing Seminar. Nothing like a speech, really. Just a casual dinner where the participants (students from AdMU, UP, UST, DLSU and UA&P) just get to talk with the chatters and ask the questions that probably wouldn't have come up during a formal talk's very uncomfortable and awkward open forum part. Hats off to the organizers for a nice touch with the fireside chat thing.

Speaking of Saturday, am thinking of watching WWE Survivor Series 2006 at Glorietta, before the AIMS thing. 3 classic Survivor Series matches? Wow. Am looking forward to the Team DX vs Team Rated-RKO one.

Ang sarap naman ng schedule ko this week. Went to work Monday and Tuesday, leave yesterday, then work today, tapos 3-day weekend. Of course, the past week was hell since I technically worked straight from Tuesday last week to Tuesday this week (for the Avanza event), but I guess everything just evens itself out.Patra

Ingress Tonight

Left the office at 10pm na last night, and here I am again so early in the morning, back at the desk which has become more of a home to me in the past few days than my ever-reliable bed.

We're setting up tonight at Market! Market!, after mall hours, of course. Puyatan na naman 'to. P was right. Listening to upbeat music (for the past half hour, at least) has helped a lot. I'd better get back to work in a few minutes, though.

Shameless plug: Catch the Avanza Advantage Road Show from November 17-19 at the Market Market Activity Center. See the new Toyota Avanza on display, enjoy the photo contest, kiddie activities, and live entertainment.

Tsaka event ko 'to, kaya magsipuntahan kayong lahat. Haha.
